More about Living Mirror Playback Theater:

We have been performing in the Tampa  Bay area since 2013 with close to 100 performances in diverse locations including schools, WMNF radio station, ALFs, business conferences, outdoor events, private parties, and more.

We honor community members’ stories with musical, metaphoric, improvisational re-enactments. We are an anti-racist, LGBTQIA supporting, disability-embracing, community-building, interactive theatre troupe.

We strive to create accessible spaces where each person can be their true full selves, where each person’s unique body, mind and heart are welcomed as they are.

We believe that this is the ground for true community building.

We understand that our society tends to stifle certain voices and amplify others. We aim to flip the script. We need each other’s stories in all their complexity and fullness. Our own voices and stories are the ones we need most to grow together to form caring communities. These stories can range from deep to hilarious to sweet to silly to serious to small to life-changing to mysterious…

Living Mirror Playback Theatre uses storytelling, ritual, and theater to nurture compassionate community. In our imperfect, human, dedicated ways, we dream, aspire and act towards creating a society in which we all support each other and we each thrive as our true full selves. Created in 1975, Playback Theatre is now offered in over 70 countries around the world to help build bridges across differences and to honor the human condition.

In addition to public performances, in person and online, Playback Theatre is used with all ages and in a wide variety of contexts–education, health, social services, businesses, faith communities, and community organizations. Its applications include social dialogue, peace building, conflict resolution, organizational change management, team building, celebrations, and much more.
